This vintage inkwell details a few patents acquired by Carter's Ink Company. It dates from 1895.
The underside of the inkwell has the following lettering indented into the glass "Carter Mucilage Bulb. U.S. Patent 616990". This Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) bottle is a checkerboard type design with the pattern repeating on each of the four sides.
This small cube measures 2-1/4" square and with the lid measures 2-1/4" high.
